In 2022, I received a grant for a media studies project examining the effect of Zoom-based learning environments on students' self-objectification and cognitive load — one of the earliest published studies on post-pandemic learning dynamics.

Outcomes

I found that camera settings influence cognitive performance, and that appearance monitoring moderates this relationship. The paper was published in the academic journal Body Image in 2023.

I was awarded Best Presentation in the Social Sciences at the Maine Symposium and accepted to present at the 2023 International Communications Association Conference. I continue to work in academic research with faculty at The New School.
